Yes, you read that right, but we wouldn’t blame you for a double-take. Seven months ago, none of us at Class could have imagined the journey we’re on. When the pandemic threw the switch sending 1.6 billion people into online learning overnight — many of them using Zoom — we knew two things: one, people needed our help to make technology work better for education; and two, education would be changed forever.
Today we’re announcing another game changer; our team is getting a quarterback. Tom Brady is investing and bringing his leadership skills from the football field to the classroom because he shares our cause: helping digital education feel and work better.
Also investing is Salesforce Ventures, bringing Class their unmatched technology expertise at turning bold ideas into great companies.
The additional investment of $12 million brings the total funding raised over the last 12 months to more than $58 million.
For students, educators, and corporate trainers, around the world who want to use Class to bring teaching and learning tools to Zoom, this funding means that we can accelerate our plans and help even more people.
The effects of the pandemic on education and global society will last long after it ends. Now that almost everybody has been exposed to virtual education, there is no going back. Going forward, we are eager to partner with K-12 schools, higher ed institutions, and corporations, to re-imagine the way people teach and learn.
We’ve been moving fast since the beginning. We’ve fast-tracked our development and worked to roll out Class to as many institutions and people as fast as possible. Now, as we head into our first summer before the next academic year, this latest funding will boost our ability to deliver Class worldwide even faster. And, for the over 7,500 institutions that have expressed interest in adopting Class and adding teaching and learning tools to Zoom, today is a milestone that validates our shared commitment to improving education far into the future.
We’re proud of our customers who are on education’s frontlines, and the promise, potential, and possibilities that lie ahead and may yield the greatest impact for us all.

I look forward to sharing more updates on our progress in the days ahead. Until then, please join me in welcoming Tom Brady and Salesforce Ventures to the Class team.
